2005 Vignes des deux Soleils Vin de Pays d’Oc Les Romains – France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays d’Oc (10/17/2008) Spices, black, somewhat cooked fruit, alcohol on the slightly stinky, but enjoyable nose. 2007 Weingut Keller Westhofener Kirchspiel Riesling Großes Gewächs – Germany, Rheinhessen (10/18/2008) Slate, lychee and minerals on the restrained nose. Ripe yellow fruit (lychee, melon), lemon peel, stones, refreshing citruslike acidity and a hint of smoke on the still primary palate. Delicious in its youth, but still very primary and fruit-driven. 2007 Familia Zuccardi Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon Fuzion – Argentina, Mendoza (20/10/2008) Brooding, modern styled red wine with lots of dark fruit (prunes) and sun ripened tannins. Ripe black fruit, chocolate, black tea and espresso on the balanced palate. Good acidity, not too much alcohol, already drinking well, good body. Very nice qpr. (90 pts.)
