2006 Clos Saint-Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée – France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (10/10/2008)
Brooding, dark, fruity nose, with kirsch, spices and dark tea. Extremely deep palate, with meat, smoke, dark chocolate, dark coffee, dark fruit, spices, good acidity. Good balance, but oh so young. Has the stuffing of their special bottling (last made in ’04). Needs time. Drink the excellent regular cuvée while waiting for this to come around. (93 pts.)
