Languedoc-Roussillon is guest region for Megavino 2010

At the end of October 2010, the twelfth edition of the wine show Megavino took place at Brussels Expo. This year the southern French wine region of Languedoc-Roussillon is in the spotlight at Megavino. The twelfth edition has ten thousand square meters of exhibition space, 280 exhibitors from 23 countries and presents more than ten thousand wines.

Languedoc-Roussillon is the oldest and largest wine region of France. It stretches from Nimes and the Pont du Gard to Perpignan and the Spanish border. The Languedoc-Roussillon pavilion will present several hundred local wines which you taste and discover. Every day during happy hour regional products will be matched to regional wines.

All other French wine regions will again be present in Brussels. New is the central Italian pavilion and a separate pavilion for the Aosta valley that makes its first appearance. Other newcomers are the Argentine pavilion, Romania and even Moldova. You’ll also find wines from Spain (with much attention to Cava), Chile, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium and Portugal.

The spirits pavilion Mega Spirits that opened last year for the first time, has been expanded to 150 square meters. Whisky has a very strong representation with many manufacturers, but also wine derivatives such as cognac, armagnac, grappa, marc en other distillates will be present.
