2006 Bodegas San Alejandro Garnacha Baltasar Gracian Viñas Viejas

2006 Bodegas San Alejandro Garnacha Baltasar Gracian Viñas Viejas – Spain, Aragón, Calatayud (8/5/2009)
Ripe, slightly burnt dark fruit, spices and espresso coffee in the nose. Spicy and fruity on the palate, with a distinct burnt slant. Not as easy drinking as in previous vintages, a bit tiring. Became somewhat more fruity on the third day (after intermittent stays in the fridge), and the burnt taste had subsided also. So maybe this needs a bit more time, or splash decanting if tasted now. I upped the score a bit to reflect this. (88 pts.)
