Book and lecture on Belgian aristocratic wine culture

Historian Stijn Van de Perre (°1966) recently wrote a chapter on Belgian aristocratic wine consumption in the 19th century in the book La noblesse à table, des ducs de Bourgogne aux rois des Belges / The Dining Nobility, from the Burgundian Dukes to the Belgian Royalty (Brussels University Press, 2008; eds. Paul Janssens & Siger Zeischka). On November, 14 he will talk about Belgian aristocratic wine culture in the 19th century in Kasteel d’Ursel in Bornem, Antwerp province. The lecture will be followed by a wine degustation.
