2007 Dönnhoff Schloßböckelheimer Felsenberg Riesling Spätlese – Germany, Nahe (9/21/2008)
Chalk, lemon peel, honey and ripe white fruit on the reticent nose. The fat palate starts sweet, but the sweetness is balanced by strong, refreshing citruslike acidity, minerals and spices. Almost unbearably intense. Lingers in the mouth. Impressive but oh so young. One for the long haul. 8,5% alc. From a parcel right under the tower on top of the Felsenberg vineyard. (93 pts.)
