After a record breaking 2007 Spanish wine exports show signs of slowing down, according to statistics published by the Spanish Wine Federation FEV (Federación Española del Vino). In the first semester of 2008 the export of Spanish appellation wines slowed down to barely plus 0,5% in value and plus 1,3% in volume. In June the export of appellation wines dropped sharply by eleven procent in value. Bulk wines are still performing strong, but even they slowed down to plus eleven procent in value in June.
