2005 Cellier du Château de la Chaume Santenay – France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay (10/13/2006)
Spicy nose, with a hint of sweets and red fruit. The palate is rather sweet and a bit hot, this is clearly from a warm year. A bit rustic, and the tannins are somewhat dry and dusty. There’s also a hint of tobacco, and the sweetnes is almost balanced by the acidity. Short finish. Modern styled wine, a bit too generic to be interesting, but it is not bad at all, only you can get this level of quality in other areas for less then half what this costs. (87 pts.)
Kruidige neus, met een hint van snoepgoed en rood fruit. In de mond redelijk zoetig en een klein beetje heet; dit is duidelijk van een warm jaar. Enigszins rustiek en de tannines zijn bijna droog en een klein beetje stoffig. Verder een hint van tabak; mist wat zuren om de zoetigheid helemaal te balanceren. Wijn in een moderne, generieke stijl. Niet slecht, maar ook niet echt herkenbaar als Bourgogne. Dit kost 14,9 euro bij Delhaize. Voor minder dan de helft van dit geld vind je dezelfde kwaliteit in andere streken. Maar als je perse Bourgogne op het etiket wil, dan is dit geen slechte keuze.
