2003 Ladera de Pinoso Alicante El Sequé – Spain, Levante, Alicante (2/13/2006)
Exotic spices, alcohol and black fruit on the nose. Fruity and spicy palate, with a lot of black fruit, but fresh, not cloying or overly sweet, supported by spices, liquorice, black coffee and kirsch. The wood is noticeable but not overbearing. Idem for the alcohol. Slightly peppery aftertaste. Needs some bottle age to integrate. The Laderas is more enjoyable now, but this is more complex and accomplished. (92 pts.)
Exotische specerijen, alcohol en zwart fruit in de neus. Fruitige en kruidige mond, met massa’s zwart fruit. De mond is echter fris, niet te plakkerig of te zoet. Het zoetige fruit wordt ondersteund door specerijen, drop, zwarte koffie en kirsch. Hout en alcohol zijn merkbaar, maar domineren niet. Lichtjes peperige afdronk. Heeft nog wat flesrust nodig om te integreren. De instapwijn van het huis, {glossSub (Ladera de Pinoso Laderas de el Sequé 2004, “de Laderas de el Sequé 2004”)}, is momenteel toegankelijker, maar de Sequé 2003 is een complexere en meer serieuze wijn. Verkrijgbaar voor ca. 20 euro bij La Buena Vida.
