1998 William Fèvre Chablis Champs Royaux – France, Burgundy, Chablis (12/18/2005)
It was a nice surprise finding this for only 9,5 euro in a small local shop. Golden colour. Very expressive slightly lactic nose with honey, ripe yellow fruit, marsepan and a hint of minerals. Suprisingly full bodied for an “ordinary” Chablis. This is certainly Premier cru quality fruit. At peak drinking now, with ripe yellow fruit and sweet honey, balancing acidity and mineral undertones. Great balance, delicious and the best Chablis qpr I’ve ever tasted. (90 pts.)
Ik vond dit voor 9,5 euro in een kleine plaatselijke winkel. Gouden kleur. Zeer expressieve, lichtjes lactische neus met honing, rijp geel fruit, marsepein en een hint van mineralen. Verrassend vol in de mond voor een “gewone” Chablis. Het fruit is duidelijk van Premier cru niveau. Nu op zijn top, met rijp geel fruit, zoete honing, balanceerde aciditeit en mineralige ondertonen. Mooie balans, lekker en de beste prijskwaliteitverhouding in Chablis die ik tot nu toe ooit dronk. Jongere jaargangen verkrijgbaar bij Jacquel voor ca. 15,7 euro.
