2004 Podere Rocche dei Manzoni Barolo Vigna Cappella di Santo Stefano

2004 Podere Rocche dei Manzoni Barolo Vigna Cappella di Santo Stefano – Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (10/22/2009)
Yes, this is way to young, but I’m just checking if I will buy more. And I sure will. Dust, crushed cherries, cinnamon, rose petals and sweet exotic spices on the nose. The nose blossoms with breathing (this needs a long decanting period if tasted now). The nose smells like a restrained, more noble version of Barolo Chinato. Still primary on the palate, but this has gobs of red and black fruits, intermingled with exotic spices and supported by refreshing cherry-like acidity. A lot of material, very very young. Educational to taste now, but if you have only a few leave this well alone for several more years. Could need 15 or more years to reach its peak and then might merit an even higher score. (95 pts.)
