700 People Strip Naked In Burgundy Vineyard

Naakt in de wijngaard700 volunteers posed naked in a Burgundy vineyard to warn the world of the effects climate change will have on French wine. This human art installation in the South of Burgundy was created by artist Spencer Tunick. It is part of Greenpeace’s campaign to warn the world for the dangers of global warming, in preparation for the climate conference in Copenhagen in December. In similar actions around the world, volunteers stripped naked on a glacier in Switzerland, chained themselves overnight to coal installations in Svalbard, spend four months at sea away from their families to show that the Arctic is melting, and carved a hundred ice statues in Beijing to show the threat to Asia’s water supply.
Greenpeace published a report on climate change and French wine. One of the consequences of global warming could be the destruction of famous vineyards in Burgundy. The report can be downloaded from the Greenpeace website.
