2006 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbera d’Asti Superiore (Bionzo) – Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d’Asti Superiore (10/26/2008)
Liquorice, black fruit, fruit syrup, blossoms on the somewhat lactic, expressive nose. Still serious acidity on the palate. Black berries, black coffee, black chocolate, liquorice: it’s all there. Expansive, but still young. Might merit a higher score after a few years of bottle age. (92 pts.)
