2005 Domaine Clavel Coteaux du Languedoc Copa Santa – France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Coteaux du Languedoc (6/25/2008)
Black berries, cherries, spices and minerals on the enjoyable but still rather closed nose. Mouth coating, ripe cherry and berry fruit on the expansive palate, supported by citruslike, refreshing acidity, leather, pepper, spices and minerals. A lot of material and a very good qpr. Also maybe one of the best Copa Santa’s ever. Based on my experience with previous vintages I would say this needs until 2015 for optimal performance and will certainly close down in about a year if not (much) sooner. (91 pts.)
