Alain Paret St. Joseph ‘420 Nuits’ 2005

2005 Alain Paret St. Joseph ‘420 Nuits’ – France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Joseph (9/15/2007)
Wow, what a nose: flowers, berry fruit, spices, violets and vanilla. On the slightly lactic palate more vanilla (but not too much), berries, spices and refreshing acidity; the tannins are not too prominent, but they’re certainly looming in the background and give this wine just enough stuffing. Certainly a first class effort for this terroir and still very young (tasted right after opening and decanting in wide open decanter). Very good qpr at about 16 euros! (92 pts.)
