2005 Castello di Fonterutoli Chianti Classico – Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico (5/23/2007)
This was my first taste of a red Italian from 2005. Incredible concentration, inky black color. Plums, herbs, spices, liquorice… forceful tannins… good acidity. This needs a lot of time. Difficult to say at this stage if tannins aren’t a bit much and will dry out the fruit in time. Therefore my score of 91?, which could go up by a margin if this comes together. (91 pts.)
Mijn eerste geproefde Italiaanse wijn uit 2005. Stevige concentratie, inktzwarte kleur. Pruimen, kruiden, specerijen, drop, … krachtige tanninnes, … mooie zuren. Dit zal heel wat tijd nodig hebben. Hopelijk drogen de tannines niet uit. Mijn score zou nog de hoogte in kunnen gaan bij een positieve evolutie in de fles. Verkrijgbaar bij Licata voor 16,35 euro.
